PARTICIPANTES EN EDICIÓN 2015

●      Por primera vez ZONA MACO organiza dos ferias simultáneas en un mismo recinto.

●      26 galerías internacionales participan en el lanzamiento de ZONA MACO FOTO, la primera feria especializada en fotografía y video en México.

A doce años de su lanzamiento como la primera feria de arte en México, ZONA MACO, la feria de arte más importante de Latinoamérica presenta por primera vez dos proyectos simultáneos en un mismo recinto ferial: la segunda edición de ZONA MACO SALÓN DEL ANTICUARIO y el lanzamiento de la nueva iniciativa ZONA MACO FOTO. Ambas ferias tendrán lugar del 24 al 27 de septiembre de 2015 en la sala D del Centro Banamex, en la Ciudad de México.

En su segunda edición, ZONA MACO SALÓN DEL ANTICUARIO recibe a los más reconocidos anticuarios nacionales, quienes presentarán artes decorativas, joyería, mobiliario, cerámica, relojes, lámparas, plata, tapices, textiles, libros manuscritos, y otros objetos producidos antes de 1960, así como escultura, pintura y gráfica anteriores a 1950.

Esta vez el comité de selección está a cargo de dos importantes anticuarios: Daniel Liebsohn (Ciudad de México) y Andrés Siegel (Ciudad de México), mientras que el comité de evaluación, encargado de revisar las piezas expuestas en la feria, está encabezado por:

●      Juan Manuel Corrales, Curador del Museo Internacional Barroco, Puebla.

●      Leonor Cortina, Presidenta del Patronato del Museo Casa la Bola, Ciudad de México.

●      Héctor Rivero Borrell, Director del Museo Franz Mayer, Ciudad de México.

De manera paralela, ZONA MACO FOTO abre sus puertas por primera ocasión con una propuesta sin precedentes. La feria internacional de fotografía antigua, moderna y contemporánea y video está enfocada en promover, difundir y acercar ambas disciplinas al público en general, así como impulsar por primera vez la especialización de este coleccionista.

Une carte postale avec un dessin de Picasso part à 166.000 euros

Une carte postale signée d'un dessin de Pablo Picasso a été adjugée samedi pour 166.000 euros (avant frais) lors d'une vente aux enchères en Allemagne, a annoncé la maison chargée de l'événement.

Le montant est un "record du monde pour une carte postale", assure dans un communiqué la maison Gärtner, basée à Bietigheim-Bissingen, près de Stuttgart.

L'acquéreur, un "collectionneur d'Outre-Atlantique", selon le communiqué, a emporté la vente au téléphone. Les enchères très disputées, en allemand, anglais, français et russe, avaient démarré à 100.000 euros. Le vainqueur paiera en tout plus de 200.000 euros pour cette carte, commissions incluses.

Une carte jamais parvenue à Apollinaire

L'objet de tant de convoitises se présente comme une simple vue aérienne de Pau (sud de la France), envoyée par Picasso le 5 septembre 1918 à son ami, témoin de mariage et célèbre poète Guillaume Apollinaire. Mais au lieu de griffonner quelques lignes au dos de la carte, le peintre y a réalisé un dessin "qui est à classer dans sa série cubiste 'La nature morte'", explique Gärtner, qui a fait authentifié l'oeuvre par un expert.

La maison de vente a expliqué avoir reçu cette carte d'un Français, une "personnalité du monde de l'entreprise".

La carte n'a toutefois jamais atteint son destinataire. Picasso y avait écrit le nom de son ami en espagnol : "Don Guillermo Apollinaire". Une originalité suffisante pour provoquer un retour à l'envoyeur, attestée par la mention "rebut" de la poste parisienne de l'époque.

Quelques mois après l'envoi de cette carte, Apollinaire succombait à la grippe espagnole, également affaibli par une blessure de guerre.

Since 2007 photographer Matthias Schaller has photographed raw, abstract paintings. The paintings however are not found on canvas, but rather smeared onto the tools used to craft each work of art—the palettes. His series, Das Meisterstück (The Masterpiece), claims these behind-the-scene objects as portraits of the artist, while also giving a direct insight into the detailed techniques performed by each painter.

Schaller was first inspired to begin his photographic collection during a visit to Cy Twombly’s late studio. During the visit he stumbled upon the artist’s palette, which he discovered to be an accurate reflection of the artist’s paintings. Encouraged to further discover the similarities between palette and painting, Schaller has gone on to photograph over two hundred of these historic portraits. His search has led him to collect palettes from all across Europe and the United States, finding the objects in major museums and private foundations and in the custody of artists’ relatives and collectors. The palettes he’s photographed so far in the series belong to seventy painters from both the 19th and 20th century, and include such artists as Monet, van Gogh, Matisse, and Picasso. To accurately analyze the details from paint hue to brushstroke, Schaller presents the images in large format, each work existing at approximately 190 x 150 cm.

Schaller’s practice focuses on non traditional portraits, which he considers “indirect portraits.” Other subject matter has included children’s rooms in Naples, Italy, 150 Italian opera houses, astronaut suits, and early punk vinyls. Through June 8, the Giorgio Cini Foundation will present Schaller’s Das Meisterstück alongside the Venice Biennale, an exhibition that will focus on 20 of Schaller’s palette photographs. Christie’s Evening Sale of Latin American Art realized $20,290,750 (£13,158,722 / €18,566,957) and sold 82% by value. The sale was led by the Surrealist masterpiece, Vegetarian Vampires (Vampiros vegetarianos) by Remedios Varo which achieved $3,301,000. Never before offered at auction, Vampiros vegetarianos was executed at the height of Varo’s career in 1962. Works by artists from thirteen countries were offered in the auction, with Brazilian, Cuban, and Mexican artists representing the lion’s share of the property offered.
